C4M - Benefits
There are many benefits to the Lomwest C4M over traditional construction materials. A selection of these are presented below.
Stronger
The use of high grade material and unique engineering means our walls are stronger and more durable than the traditional products.
The Lomwest C4M is Certified to AS 3600 and AS 4678 overturning and sliding.
Lomwest C4M: Stronger.
Faster
Using the C4M, what would normally take 3 weeks to do with limestone can be erected in 5 days (140 meters of 2.4 meter high walls took 5 men, 5 days to complete). These time savings are achieved as a result of:
- Prefabrication of the C4M, allowing backfilling as the wall is erected.
- Casting in components, meaning the wall can be built on top of immediately.
Lomwest C4M: Faster.
Safer
The Lomwest C4M provides several safety benefits over traditional retaining wall systems. Prefabrication of the units means less work required on site, while the lack of any required propping reduces the exposure of workers to potential injury sources. In addition the use of cranes and machinery to install the C4M eliminates any significant manual labour during construction.

Greener
Using the Lomwest C4M has environmental benefits, including:
- Reduction in landfill waste
- Improvement in air quality, particularly in China where Australia's waste tyres are currently burnt
- Elimination of tonnes of CO2 (carbon dioxide) from the atmosphere
- Does not deplete finite natural resources (lime stone)
- Allows for sustainable commercial and residential construction
- Can be recycled, in addition to using recycled materials in manufacture
